estimates. These were the 2009 housing unit estimates and the 2009 sub-county population estimates. Here is the Memo sent out to the
FSCPE affiliates by Rodger Johnson:
From: Rodger Johnson
Chief, Local Government Estimates and Migration Processing Branch
Subject: Re-Release of the Vintage 2009 State and County Housing Unit Estimates and the Vintage 2009 Population Estimates for Incorporated Places and Minor Civil Divisions
I am writing to notify you that the Census Bureau will re-release the July 1, 2009 population estimates for incorporated places and minor civil divisions and the housing unit estimates for states and counties on Thursday, September 9, 2010. This re-release is scheduled for 9:00 A.M.
After the June 2010 release of the Vintage 2009 housing unit estimates series, it was discovered that some housing unit updates provided by the states had not been incorporated for years prior to 2009. This impacted both releases. These updated series of estimates supersede those released in June 2010.
The MCDC has downloaded the revised raw
data files (stored in /pub/data/popests/rawdata) and ran two conversion setups which recreated the following data sets in the popests data directory:
ushuests2009 ; mohuests2009 ; ussc09 ; mosc09
We shall also be revising the affected sheets in curmoests.xls Excel file shortly.
Note that no other estimates were affected. All the county level estimates with components of change and with demographic detail are NO affected by this "recall".
